Việc bổ sung axit béo không no (UFA) trong khẩu phần của bò đã thu hút nhiều nghiên cứu do tiềm năng cải thiện trao đổi chất nên có ảnh hưởng tới sức khỏe, sức sản xuất và phát thải khí methane từ dạ cỏ. Bài tổng quan này đi sâu vào phân loại, chức năng, nguồn thực liệu của UFA, đồng thời tổng hợp bằng chứng khoa học cho thấy việc bổ sung UFA trong khẩu phần ảnh hưởng như thế nào đến sức khỏe, sức sinh sản, chất lượng thịt, năng suất và chất lượng sữa cũng như phát thải khi methane của bò. Mặt khác, bài viết cũng phân tích những thách thức của việc bổ sung UFA và giải pháp khắc phục để tối đa hóa lợi ích của việc bổ sung UFA trong khẩu phần của bò.
