• Influence of Root and Leaf Cutting on Growth and Tuberous Root Yield of Mondo Grass (Ophiopogon japonicusWall)

  The study aimed at defining suitable techniques for root and leaf cutting to improve tuberous root yield of mondo grass under intercropping system. The experiment used four different techniques for root and foliate cutting: Digging up and root cuts twice in December 2011 and December 2012; leaf cuts twice in December 2011 and December 2012; leaf cuts four times in Dec. 2011, June 2012, Dec. 20102 and June 2013; and non-cut as control. Results showed that he root cutting of mondo grass in winter gave highest tuberous root yield, while leaf cutting of mondo grass in winter showed no effect on tuberous root yield. In contrast, leaf cutting of mondo grass twice in winter and summer exerted negative effect on tuberous root yield.

  The application nitrogen fertilizer aim to define sensible nitrogen dose for tuberous root yield of mondo grass on Ferralic Acrisols at Phu Tho province. The application nitrogen dose change from 30 to 50 kgN/ha + 10 tons organic fertilizer +  30kg P2O5 + 30kgK2O/ha. Mondo grass was researched on   growth of foliate, root and tuberous root yield.  Results showed that:  the dose of nitrogen fertilizer applying on  30kg N + 10 tons organic fertilizer +  30kg P2O5 + 30kgK2O/ha  achieved the max tuberous root yield and economic effectivity. The tuberous root yield of mondo grass achieved 33,08 ton/ha. The income achieved  850,792 million VND/ha/3 years and investable effectivity of nitrogen fetilizer - 38,52 fold.

  The experiment aimed to define suitable fertilizer dose for vegetative growth and tuberous root yield of mondo grass on Ferralic Acrisols at Phu Tho province. Amongsix different fertilizer doses of fertilizer applied, 10 tons organic fertilizer +20kg N + 30kgP2O5+ 30kgK2O/ha appeared to be most suitable to obtainmaximum tuberous root yield and economic efficiency.

• Influence of Distance and Density on Growth and Tuberous Root Yield of Mondo Grass at Hạ Hòa District, Phu Tho Province

  This study aimed at defining most suitable planting density for high tuberous root yield of mondo grass. The row spacing varied from 30 to 50 cm; while intra row spacing from 10 to 16 hills/m2 with 1 to 3 shoots per hill. Results showed that  the planting density exhibits clear influence on growth and tuberous yield of Mondo grass. Spacing at 40x20cm with 3 shoots per hill was proved most positive on growth and tuberous root yield. The net profit achieved  was 178,23 million VND/ha/3 years.
