Abstract
This study aimed to clarify the current capacity status of OCOP enities in Lai Chau for proposing solutions to promote the maintenance and development of OCOP products in the region. Based on foundational theories of capacity, this research developed capacity evaluation criteria for OCOP entities including: (i) Resources; (ii) Knowledge; and (iii) Business Operations and investigated samples of 48 OCOP entities in Lai Chau province to. The findings indicated that the capacity of Lai Chau OCOP entities in Lai Chau was limited in terms of financial resources, human resources, technological application, and value chain linkages. In particular, the OCOP cooperatives were at a greater disadvantage compared to enterprises and business households. To improve this situation, OCOP entities need to proactively enhance together the solutions of their managerial capacity, financial resources, digital technology adoption, and business network development to create favorable conditions for sustaining and developing OCOP products.
