This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of planting density and planting pattern on weed species, weed density and weed biomass, growth and cob yield of baby corn. The field experiment was conducted in 2020 spring in Gia Lam, Ha Noi using a split-plot design with three replications. The main plot was planting densities with four levels: 138,888 plants ha-1, 111,111 plants ha-1, 92,593 plants ha-1, and 79,365 plants ha-1. The sub-plot factor was two planting patterns: quadrate planting and triangular planting. The results showed that increasing planting density suppressed weed growth while increasing corn yield. However, the planting patterns did not affect the weed growth as well as the growth and yield of corn. With the same planting pattern, increasing planting density significantly reduced weed density and weed biomass, and increased yield of baby corn. The highest corn yield (1.69-1.77 tons/ha) was obtained at the planting density of 111,111-138,888 plants/ha combined with quadrate planting or triangular planting

The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of polysaccharides extracted from the seaweed (Enteromorpha intestinalis) at different levels on the growth, survival rate, feed utilization efficiency, and stress resistance of white-leg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during the nursery phase. White-leg shrimp (initial weight 0.02±0.005 g) were fed a control diet without the seaweed extract, while the other treatments included diets supplemented with the extract at levels of 0.4% and 0.8%. After 30 days of rearing, the results showed that shrimp-fed diets supplemented with 0.4% and 0.8% of the seaweed extract exhibited faster growth, better feed conversion ratio, higher protein efficiency, and improved salinity stress resistance compared to the control. In this study, we evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of a topical formulation of Selamectin (spot-on) against two ectoparasites: fleas and ear mites in dogs and cats. A total of 45 dogs and cats were selected and treated with Selamectin (Revolution®, Zoetis) applied to the base of the neck following the manufacturer's instructions at the recommended dosage of 6 mg/kg body weight. Treatments were administered on days 0 and 14, and efficacy was assessed based on the presence of ectoparasites (fleas and ear mites) before and after treatment. The efficacy against fleas was 71,43%, 100% in dogs, and 87,5%, 100% in cats on days 14 (after the first dose) and 28 (after the second dose), respectively. For ear mites in cats, a single dose of Selamectin completely eliminated (100%) the infestation within 14 days post-treatment.

Precision agriculture requires accurate fertilizer application in terms of quantity, location, and timing to enhance cultivation efficiency, conserve resources, and reduce environmental impact. This study develops a theoretical model to simulate the trajectory of fertilizer granules after leaving the spinning disc. The dynamics and numerical Runge-Kutta methods are applied to analyze the effects of air drag coefficient, granule size, and density on travel distance. The results show an inverse relationship between the air drag coefficient and travel distance. As the air drag coefficient increases from 0.4 to 0.6, the travel distance decreases from 17.79m to 15.59m. Conversely, granule diameter and density exhibit a direct proportionality with landing position. When the diameter increases from 2mm to 4mm, the travel distance rises from 13.98m to 20.79m. Similarly, when the density increases from 1,200 kg/m³ to 1,800 kg/m³, the travel distance extends from 15.59m to 19.64m. This study confirms that designing an optimal fertilizer spreading system requires considering the interaction between the physical and mechanical properties of the granules to maximize distribution efficiency in the field

Rural female laborers play an important role in maintaining and managing household income and are the driving force for local socio-economic development. If rural female laborers promote the spirit of business ownership, they can create their own jobs, thereby improving income, stabilizing life and enhancing their social status. This study was conducted with the aim of identifying factors affecting the decision to create their own jobs of rural female laborers in Nam Dinh province. The study used data collected from a survey of 200 female laborers belonging to two groups: self-employed and hired rural female laborers in rural areas of Nam Dinh province. Using descriptive statistical methods, chi-square test and binary logistic regression analysis, the research results show that the factors affecting the decision to create self-employment of rural female laborers include: educational level, passion for self-employment, readiness to invest personal and family savings into entrepreneurial activities, information supporting self-employment and natural conditions of rural areas.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of factors affecting the efficiency of implementing reverse logistics in packaging supply chainin Hung Yen province. This research was conducted with 225 samples using the direct interview method. After collecting and processing data, regression analysis was applied to evaluate the impact on the effectiveness of reverse logistics implementation. The results show that the effective of reverse logistics implemetntation was related to 5 factors: legal regulations and policies, level of technology application, consumer awareness and attitudes, level of collaboration, policies and resources of enterprises. Five solutions were recommended to enhance the efficient of reverse logistics implementation: enhancing the responsibility of manufacturers in implementing regulations on recycling and waste packaging responsibilities, promote cooperation on advanced technology transfer in the field of recycling; create a stable market for recycled products, promting the supply chain member collaboration and train human resources on reverse logistics management and recycling

Xaythany is one of the district of Vientiane capital with many advantages in organic vegetable cultivation. However, the diffusion of organic vegetable cultivation in this district still faces various difficulties. The study was conducted to propose solutions to promote the development of organic vegetable production in Xaythany district. The study collected data from 200 vegetable farming households in Thong Mang, Non Te, and Somsavan villages. Beside the natural conditions, policies, and markets affecting the diffusion of organic vegetable, the logit model was used to analyze socio-economic factors affecting the organic vegetable production adoption. Proposed solutions include: completing policies, completing organic vegetable production development planning, encouraging consumption and market expansion, encouraging the participation of relevant stakeholders in organic vegetable production, strengthening supervision to ensure product quality, increasing credit for households and generating funding sources for training.

The article provides an overview of the role of enhancing workforce quality for digital transformation in the textile and garment industry, aiming to strengthen competitiveness and achieve sustainable development in the context of globalization. Experiences from countries such as China, India, and Bangladesh demonstrate the application of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain have helped optimize production, improve supply chains, and create significant added value in the industry. Critical factors for the success include digital workforce training, investment in technological infrastructure, fostering a digital culture, and government support. For Vietnam, the article points outmajor challenges, including a lack of digital skills, dependence on manual labor, and limitations in technology application. Drawing from international experiences, the article suggests that Vietnam should focus on training the workforce for digital transformation, upgrading technological infrastructure, and fostering collaboration between the government, businesses, and educational institutions. These solutions will contribute to enhancing competitiveness, meeting international standards, and achieving deeper integration into global value chains, thereby laying the foundation for sustainable development.

Agricultural insurance is a mechanism to protect producers against risks, to help them recover more quickly from shocks and to promote better production management. To develop and implement agricultural insurance for crops in general and rice in particular, many countries have developed and enacted various policies. Using review and analysis methodologies of secondary information, data, and reports from academic journals, websites and observation from the fieldtrip in 2024, this article aims: (i) to provide an overview of international experiences of several countries in designing and implementing agricultural insuarance policies for crops; (ii) to identify key lessons learnt and (iii) to propose relevant policy recommendations for the development and implementation of the agricultural insurance policies in Vietnam in the coming time.

In the context of increasingly developing agriculture, effective agricultural waste management has become urgent. Circular management of agricultural waste and by-products is regarded as an optimal solution. The article reviews the theoretical basis of circular agricultural waste and by-product management, analyzes management models in Vietnam, identifies challenges in transitioning to a circular economic model, and proposes solutions to promote circular agricultural by-product management. The information in this article was synthesized from various international and domestic studies. The results indicate that the circular management of agricultural waste and by-products still encounters several challenges, including a lack of coordination among stakeholders, insufficient support policies, inappropriate technologies, and low public awareness. To address these issues, it is essential to enhance policy support, increase investment in waste treatment and recycling technologies, and strengthen communication efforts to raise public awareness, thereby creating sustainable economic value from the reuse of agricultural by-products

Durian (Durio zibethinus L.) is a fruit with high economic value and is famous in Southeast Asia. Currently, the export value and its cultivated area has been continuously increasing year by year. In addition, the exchange and import of durian varieties with high yield and quality are promoted but this also creates unwanted consequences, specifically increasing the possibility of introducing foreign pests and also reducing the health of durian trees due to frequent chemical treatment. Especially, the symptoms of durian root rot and stem rot become a factor affecting the quality of this fruit. Especially when the demand for output increases sharply, the area expands uncontrollably and specialized growing areas are formed, this disease becomes more complicated and common. These are problems that significantly affect the health and productivity of the tree, creating an urgent need for comprehensive research on stem rot and root rot in durian trees. Research hopes to contribute to sustainable agricultural development, increasing productivity and minimizing damage from this disease.
