Abstract
Xaythany is one of the district of Vientiane capital with many advantages in organic vegetable cultivation. However, the diffusion of organic vegetable cultivation in this district still faces various difficulties. The study was conducted to propose solutions to promote the development of organic vegetable production in Xaythany district. The study collected data from 200 vegetable farming households in Thong Mang, Non Te, and Somsavan villages. Beside the natural conditions, policies, and markets affecting the diffusion of organic vegetable, the logit model was used to analyze socio-economic factors affecting the organic vegetable production adoption. Proposed solutions include: completing policies, completing organic vegetable production development planning, encouraging consumption and market expansion, encouraging the participation of relevant stakeholders in organic vegetable production, strengthening supervision to ensure product quality, increasing credit for households and generating funding sources for training.
