High Technology Application by Agricultural Cooperatives in Bac Giang Province

This study aimed to assess the situation of the high technology application by agricultural cooperatives in Bac Giang province. Data was collected from interviewing a total of 35 agricultural cooperatives have applied high technology, while 05 others have not applied yet, and 05 enterprises that have had frequent transactions with the cooperatives. The results showed that high technology application helped agricultural cooperatives significantly improve production efficiency, being more proactive in production, reducing agricultural input costs, and improving productivity and product quality. However, the scale of high technology application by agricultural cooperatives was still small, scattered. High technology was mainly applied in some stages in the production process and the crop sector due to lower capital requirements for high technology and other resource limitations of agricultural cooperatives as well as constraints on policies. Therefore, the study has proposed a number of recommendations to promote agricultural cooperatives to apply high technology in agriculture more efficiently.
